The Skiing

As part of the four valleys system Veysonnaz shares 100 ski lifts and more than 400km of skiable terrain with its sister resorts. This includes a bit of summer skiing on the glacier at Mont Fort, just 30 minutes away. By the way glacier supplements are available as an addition to every ski pass option. In summer it will be necessary to use some sort of motorized transport to get you to the glacier.

Directly in the village at Veysonnaz, the new telecabine, the "Piste de L'Ours" makes the immediate skiing much more conveniently available to the whole spectrum of skiers talents. The village is at an altitude of 1,300m with skiing in the immediate vicinity possible to an altitude of just over 2,700m, and on the glacier to over 3,000m. The lift system is well interconnected, and allows skiers easy access to the Nendaz area. From there it is convenient for good skiers to get to the slopes on the Verbier side, including Mont Fort. Less experienced skiers would, however, be well advised to stick to the slopes closer to home.

This area can be especially difficult if you don't know where you are going. By the way, the lift map info that you will get in the village has a warning which advises skiers to take note of lift closing times. Darn good advice. The lift pass system breaks down into zones, allowing skiers to tailor make the lift system to their talents.
