How to get there

Val d'Anniviers is a small, picturesque Swiss valley situated on the left bank of the Rhône above Sierre in the Valais. It lies on the boundary between the two official language regions, the Upper and the Lower Valais. The Anniviards' official language is French even though some of the older inhabitants still speak the old dialect.

Access - by road

  • A9 motorway, Sierre-West exit. Follow Val d'Anniviers signs

Access - by rail

  • Train to Sierre then PTT postal bus to Val d'Anniviers

Access - by plane

  • Geneva International Airport, train to Sierre then postal bus to Val d'Anniviers

  • Zurich-Kloten International Airport, train to Sierre via Bern - Lausanne or via Bern - Lötschberg Tunnel - Brig then postal bus to Val d'Anniviers

  • Sion airport, taxi to Sion station, train to Sierre then postal bus to Val d'Anniviers
