Hiking Paradise

A near infinite choice of trails and routes characterize the vacation and hiking paradise of St. Moritz. Many comfortable cable cars from and around the area of St. Moritz give access to the Piz Nair, Corvatsch and Diavolezza, three mountain peaks with an altitude of more than 10,000 ft, and to numerous vantage points, such as Corviglia, Signal and Muottas Muragl, opening on breath-taking panoramic views.

All these renowned mountain tops, like Corviglia and Muottas Muragl, are starting points for many panoramic hikes whose magnificence and density is world-unique and which harbor many snug mountain restaurants, where visitors may relax, enjoying local specialties. Other than an almost unlimited amount of possibilities for individual hikes, St. Moritz and its neighboring localities offer guided glacier and mountain tours as well as excursions centering on various topics (geology, botany...) during the summer season.

Suggested Hikes

Should you be looking for an idea on how to spend a day hiking in the Engadine, you will most certainly find the right one among our suggested hikes.

National Park

From St. Moritz it is only a short distance to the Swiss National Park. You may want to spend a day hiking through one of the most enchanting natural reserves of Europe, witness the fascinating alpine flora and fauna in its pristine state and return to St. Moritz bathed in impressions.

Muottas Muragl - (Segantini Hütte) - Höhenweg - Alp Languard - Pontresina

Start at Punt Muragl, the valley station of the Muottas-Muragl ropeway. Take a ride uphill through a forest of tall trees to reach the vantage point of the mountain station at an altitude of 8177 ft with an overwhelming view of the Upper Engadine.

The panoramic hike begins on a slight downward slope towards the east into the Val Muragl.

Segantini-Weg (Segantini Trail)

Six information boards recount the life of the world-famous painter Giovanni Segantini. The trail extending over two kilometres leads to the renovated Segantini Museum.

Schellenursli Trail - a Fairy-Trail for Children

The Schellenursli trail leads off the Via Tinus passing the "Heidihütte" (Heidi's hut) and ends at the Hotel Salastrains. The length of the trail is 1.5 km and a leisurely stroll will take about 45 minutes.
