What would summer in the Upper Engadine be like without the
"Holiday-Fun-Pass" ("Ferien(s)pass")? Since
its tenth anniversary in 1999, the Holiday-Fun-Pass program is
now officially recognized as one of the traditional leisure
events on the agenda of the Upper Engadine.
The summer Holiday-Fun-Pass is valid from early July to the
beginning of August. All children and adolescents from 5 to 15
years of age, whether resident or visiting, are welcome to
attend.
There are some 200 activites - table tennis, baking, sgraffiti,
riding, overnights in heystacks and many more - catering to the
children's delights and making for an eventful summer vacation.
As one young participant put it: the Holiday-Fun-Pass spared her
and her sister from having to go on hikes and next year they
would be back for sure. No doubt one or the other of the 600
children and adolescents taking part in the Holiday-Fun-Pass
every year would share her thoughts on the matter.
Year after year the children get their time's worth out of the
program: making cheese, golfing, visiting the airport or a dairy
or some other place, wood working, taking a peek at circus
artists rehearsing their acts, and many other interesting
things. The Holiday-Fun-Pass journal includes a detailed program
published early in June. |
