Summer Activities
Davos, Europe's largest mountain resort,
offers an unforgettable natural landscape combined with a vast array
of leisure activities. Davos has something for everybody. Those who
prefer the quiet to the exciting city life will be pleased by the
calmness of the Davos area. The region of Davos can be explored on
450 km of well-preserved and marked hiking trails. Whether you are
interested in mountaineering, hiking or strolling on comfortable
walks - in Davos ou will find your personal hiking paradise.
We call hiking in Davos "Wanderplausch" - the complete enjoyment of
nature and mountains you will find here.
The landscape around Davos and its beautiful meadows, woods, pastures
and above all mountains is accessible by 450 km of signed and
maintained hiking trails.
Comfortable paths for stolling or narrow mountain tracks through steep
terrain above the tree line - delve into the true hiking country!
Explore the old settlements of the Walser, and move through distant
valleys of the Davos region.
Lake Davos, with its
3.77 km shore, reaches the 20°C mark in summer and offers many
possibilities for water sport enthusiasts. The open-air swimming
pool provides additional refreshment.
Be it sailing, surfing, swimming, diving, fishing, or simply splashing
around - in Davos, you do not only have the mountains but water to
boot.
Spend your holidays in the
mountains and dally in beach activities and relaxation. The Water
Sports Centre provides a recreation lawn, restaurant, sun terrace,
volleyball field and all the equipment for water sports. Tel. +41

Trial courses or individual lessons. Yachts and yawls for
hire. You may even make the Swiss (D category) or international
sailing licence. Open season from mid June to approximately the end
of August.
Feel the mountain breeze in your sail. Trial courses,
individual and group lessons are available to adolescents and adults
from late June to late August.
Under expert guidance you will literally surf down the
river yourself as you hold on to your hydrospeed. What better way to
immerse yourself in the water element?
Follow a clear mountain brook down cliffs, along deep and
narrow beds and through deep forests until you reach the valley and
discover a New World!
As mentioned earlier, the village is
divided into two parts, Davos Dorf and Davos Platz. The latter
boasts the magnificent Schatzalp with its extensive intermediate
skiing area and its connection to the Parsenn. The Jakobshorn lift
is just a short walk away. The Parsenn is more toward the "dorf" end
of town, while the other areas are reachec by some sort of wheeled
transport. They are very short rides away.
Our advice, if you can ski at all, is to
buy an all area pass and sample the lot. You'll enjoy the diversity
of the skiing terrain, and the normally good snow conditions found
at these altitudes.
Lift pass prices are as varied as the terrain, and the combinations
are too numerous to mention here. There is also a big bonus for
those of you who opt for the all-encompassing pass.
This ticket includes all of the skiing to and in the village of
Klosters.
Cross country skiers will get a kick and glide out of Davos as high
altitude trails are ideal for the purpose. Davos too, is a major
snowboarder's hangout, and,
to encourage them,
the resort has provided not only first class, specially
prepared areas, but world class snowboard events too.
When the sun goes down in Davos, the neon lights take over. There is a
large selection of night spots with an equally large variation of
atmospheres and prices.
